Coronavirus, COVID-19 - Updated 20/05/20

Updated 20th May 2020

The UK Government is now permitting the daytime use (only) of private powered and unpowered craft (excluding any overnight stays on board). However, the use of all hire boats currently remains prohibited and this restriction is likely to remain in force until 4th July 2020 based on the latest Government Covid-19 information. This date may change, depending upon the progress of reducing the rate of new Covid-19 infections in the UK between now and the end of June.

For all holidays that have already been booked to start during May and June, we are currently working closely with your boat operator to discuss the option for you to transfer your booking to a later date. Your boat operator will contact you as soon as possible if your holiday is due to commence within this period. Due to the current very high volume of calls, we would ask if you can kindly only call the operator of your boat (or Waterways Holidays) if you are due to start your holiday within the next 7 days. This will enable all of us to work together to find a suitable solution. You can find the contact details for your boat operator in your booking confirmation. Your holiday hire contract is direct with your operator and is subject to their Booking Terms. Please be assured that we are all working our hardest to find the best solutions for every customer during these unprecedented times.

We thank you for your understanding and we fully appreciate the disappointment that will no doubt be felt by all, but we must all play our part in limiting the spread of this virus for the sake of everyone. We hope that you will be able to enjoy your planned holiday as we all come through these extraordinary and challenging times. In the meantime, please stay safe and take care.
