Terms & Conditions of Hire:

Hire Times: 7 night hire - commences at 2.30pm until 9.30am on the last day of hire.
6 night hire starting from Chirk or Falkirk commences at 9.30am until 2.30pm on final day.
Short breaks starting from Chirk or Falkirk: 2.30pm Saturdays until 2.30pm Tuesdays or from 9.30am Wednesdays until 9.30am Saturdays. All other short breaks commence 2.30pm until 9.30am on the final day.

A deposit of 25% of the total cost (plus cancellation protection if required) with the balance of hire due 8 weeks before your arrival date. Payments can be made by debit or credit card, there is no surcharge. Single-sex celebratory parties are not permitted on these boats without prior permission.

Optional Extras:

Pet charges, per pet: First pet is free of charge, second pet is £30 (payable on arrival). They are not allowed on seating or beds and may not be left unattended. The Hirer shall be liable for the cost of any damage or extra cleaning.

Boat Description:

Highlights: An excellent choice for families or groups. 240V electric system with a 3-pin plug for low wattage appliances only (please make sure your appliances use a maximum of 1 Kw). Cigar lighter plug point for mobile phones or camcorders. There is a 240v hairdryer and a security safe. 110 gallon stainless steel water tank. Full central heating with radiators & airing cupboard. Carpeted throughout (except kitchen & bathroom areas). Maximum headroom of at least 6'3".

Saloon: Forward saloon with two bench seating areas and a dining table. The benches can be used as single beds in the evening, if required. Colour flat screen TV/DVD player, Freeview with USB, charging point radio/CD player.

Galley: Fully-equipped galley with 4 ring cooker, oven & grill. Electric fridge with freezer compartment. Cutlery, crockery, saucepans and cooking utensils are provided. T-towels, washing-up liquid and cleaning materials are also on-board.

Cabins: The Duchess 8 class has 4 cabins. The rear cabin has two permanent single beds. One of the mid cabins has a flexible layout and can either be configured as a permanent double or two singles. The second mid cabin has a permanent double, and there is an additional double bed in the forward cabin. Double beds measure 6'3" x 4' with interior sprung mattresses. Single beds measure 6'3" x2' with interior sprung mattresses.

Bathroom: Two flush toilets and wash basins. There is one full-size shower in the bathroom between the forward and mid cabin.

Additional Costs:

Diesel: The diesel used will be charged for on return from your holiday. The cost of diesel is set at slightly under supermarket prices prevailing at the time of your holiday. Your boat engine will use between 1.25 and 1.7 litres per cruising hour. In addition, your boat is equipped with diesel fired central heating which will increase diesel consumption when the central heating is in use. We estimate usage of approx. £10- £15 per day.
