Terms & Conditions of Hire:

Hire Times: Arrival is between 1.00pm and 4.00pm and return between 9.00am and 9.30am on the last day of hire.

A deposit of 20% of the total cost is required. The balance of hire is due 4 weeks before your arrival date. Payments can be made by credit or debit card, there is no charge for credit/debit card transactions.

Please note: as 'Bernadette II' is a classic wooden boat dating back to 1952, this heritage boat is suitable for hirers who have cruised on the UK Canals or River Thames before.

Optional Extras:

Pets: One small to medium size dog is welcome at a cost of £35.00 per holiday.

Boat Description:

Highlights: SUITABLE FOR EXPERIENCED BOATERS ONLY. Built in 1952, this beautifully hand crafted wooden heritage boat is 30ft of classic Bates Star Craft. 1.5BMC diesel engine.

Bernadette II is ideal for a couple or a family with two younger children, who have been on the canals or the River Thames previously.
Modern features have been introduced to make Bernadette II more comfortable, including a 'jet thruster' to assist with maneuverability, new mattresses in the forward cabin and memory foam toppers available for the saloon berths, central heating with radiators, a TV with internal DVD and a Stereo DAB radio - that can play music from your phone too. There is also shore power, 240v (via a 1000w inverter), USB socket, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, tea, coffee & sugar, essential spices, cleaning materials, a hair dryer and iron. Picnic chairs are provided.

Saloon: Comfortable saloon with two dinette areas which can be used as single berths, as well as a TV/DVD, radio and USB socket. For your entertainment there are cards, scrabble, a compendium of games and a few videos on-board.

Galley: Well-equipped galley, with gas hob and oven. Cutlery, crockery, saucepans and cooking utensils are provided. There is a small under counter fridge with a freezer compartment. Tea towels and washing up liquid provided.

Cabins: One forward cabin with a two single berths.

Bathroom: One bathroom with a flush toilet, shower, wash basin and bath mat. Bath towels and hand towels are provided. There are complimentary toiletries including shower gel and hand gel.

Additional Costs:

Damage waiver: A non-refundable damage waiver of £100 is payable on every hire. The damage waiver covers you for any accidental damage or loss to the boat or its equipment (except for negligent or malicious damage).
Fuel: The boats are handed over fuelled, we just ask they are brought back with the same amount.
