New Boat Alert: ‘Tern Class’

A new narrowboat class, ‘Tern’, will be available for the start of the season next year. The narrowboats boats will be 70ft and have a cruiser stern, they’ll be well suited to larger groups with a flexible bed layout and free WiFi on board. The boats will be available from 2 hire bases; Aldermaston in Berkshire and Anderton in Cheshire.
Aldermaston Wharf is well positioned for cruising the picturesque and peaceful Kennet & Avon Canal or the River Thames (Thames licence required). This location is a great choice for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of London life, as it is easily accessible within an hours’ journey by train. The base at Anderton is situated on the Trent & Mersey canal near Northwich in Cheshire. The most popular routes are the Cheshire Ring and the canal that everyone wants to cruise, the Llangollen canal. However, for the newcomer to canals Chester or Ellesmere Port & return takes some beating. There are also a number of other routes available for both short breaks, weeks and longer. Ideal for beginners looking for a gentle introduction to boating or experienced groups looking to take a longer ring route.
