This year has been a very popular year for boating on our inland waterways. After the release of the lockdown restrictions, we have found ourselves almost fully booked for July, August & now September!
Many people may not be so inclined to consider a boating holiday during October, however we believe it is the ideal time to take to the water for that much-needed break away.
Although the temperatures may start to fall, the scenery becomes arguably more beautiful and the waterways more quiet. Imagine waking up to a lovely, crisp morning, perfectly quiet with just ducks and swans for company. You can spend your day gently cruising up the canal, spotting the wildlife as you pass by. Finish off your day by mooring up near to one of the canal side pubs or eateries for an evening meal before retiring to your cosy narrowboat for a nightcap.
Autumn is a fantastic time of year for getting back to nature. From redwings and fieldfares picking berries to woodland animals preparing their winter haul. The warm autumnal colours start coming through on the trees as the leaves change from green to gold and the autumn sunrises and sunsets the most photogenic of all the seasons.
Our narrowboats have full radiator central heating and some even have solid-fuel stoves to keep you extra warm during the cooler months. On top of this they all have lots of home comforts including: hot water; showers; TV/DVD players and some even have microwaves and WiFi! No previous experience is needed to hire one of our boats as full training will always be provided on arrival.
